Catherine Hands

Catherine Hands currently serves as a Senior Process Scientist at Southern Water, following a progression from Process Audit Scientist within the same company since June 2017. Prior to this role, Catherine worked at Newcastle University from September 2011 to June 2017, where responsibilities included managing laboratory facilities as a Geomicrobiology Technician and conducting research as a PhD Researcher, focusing on antibiotic and metal resistance in aquatic environments, including collaborative work with AstraZeneca's Environmental laboratories. Additional experience includes participation in the Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme and a role as a Programmes Department Assistant Administrator at Lumiere TV Public Company LTD. Catherine holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology, an MSc in Environmental Engineering, and a BSc in Environmental Science, all obtained from Newcastle University.
