John Penicud

John Penicud is an experienced leader in the water industry, currently serving as Managing Director of Wastewater at Southern Water since April 2021, with accountability for the comprehensive delivery of all Wastewater Services. Prior roles include Director of Wastewater Operations and Head of Wastewater Treatment and Maintenance at Southern Water, as well as various leadership positions at Thames Water, where responsibilities extended to managing large-scale drinking water supply, network operations, and treatment works. John Penicud's background also includes significant experience in power distribution with SSE plc and extensive project management within Thames Water’s Business Improvement Programme. John Penicud holds a degree from the University of Exeter.
