Nick Mills

Nick Mills is an experienced professional in the water industry with a focus on innovation and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as the Director of Environment & Innovation at Southern Water since February 2018, Nick Mills also leads the Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force, working on strategies to minimize storm overflow usage through collaborative, nature-based approaches. Previous roles at Southern Water include Head of Pollution & Flooding Resilience and Head of Asset Performance, emphasizing pollution control and wastewater operational excellence. Additionally, Nick Mills serves as Programme Lead for a UK-wide wastewater research initiative at UKWIR. Prior to Southern Water, extensive experience includes positions at Thames Water and managing WaterTech Events Ltd. Nick Mills holds an Engineering Doctorate from the University of Surrey and advanced degrees in Sustainable Electrical Power and Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
