Paul Atkinson

Paul Atkinson has extensive experience in environmental management, currently serving as the Environmental Permitting Manager at Southern Water since 1994. In this role, responsibilities include establishing and coordinating the strategic direction regarding environmental regulatory issues and ensuring compliance with waste and wastewater environmental permits and marine consents for capital projects. Prior experience includes a role as a Marine Scientist at South West Water, where negotiation of discharge consents for the Torbay Marine Wastewater Treatment Scheme was a key responsibility, and as a Senior Project Scientist at Acer Environmental, managing Environmental Impact Assessments for various marine projects. Paul Atkinson holds an MSc in Marine Resource Development & Protection from Heriot Watt University and a BSc Hons in Physical Geography from the University of Reading.
