Alan Kasher

SVP, Air Operations at Southwest Airlines

Alan provides Leadership to the departments that support Southwest Airlines’ Air Operations, including Network Operations Control, Flight Operations, Inflight Operations, and Regulatory Programs & Compliance.

Alan was hired as a Southwest Pilot in September 2000, and upgraded to Captain in 2007. He worked in Flight Operations Safety and served in various management positions within Flight Operations and the former Operational Control Center (now Network Operations Control), including Director of Operations. He also served as the Vice President of Flight Operations from 2015-2020, and provided Leadership and support to the department, which included 11 Pilot bases, Crew Planning/Scheduling/Payroll, and the LEAD Center, the home of Southwest’s world-class Pilot training. Prior to Southwest, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, Corporate and Charter Operations as Pilot, Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations, and was an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner.

Alan received his pilot training and credentials at Ohio State University.
