Donley Lytle is an experienced aviation professional with extensive flight and management experience. Lytle has served as a Captain for Southwest Airlines since 2012, specializing in the Boeing 737. Previous roles include Operations QA Program Manager focused on Regulatory Programs and Compliance, and positions in Flight Ops Human Factors and Training at Southwest Airlines. Prior to this, Lytle was a pilot at AirTran Airways from 2005 to 2012, flying the Boeing 717, and worked for Atlantic Southeast Airlines from 1998 to 2005 as a CL65-200/700 Captain and E120 First Officer. The aviation career began as a Ramp Agent at Alamo Aviation and involved earlier roles as a Certified Flight Instructor at Bell Helicopter and a Computer Programmer. Lytle holds a Master of Science in Aviation from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Science from Hardin-Simmons University.
