Edgardo Ocasio

Prior to his role on Southwest Key’s board of directors, Mr. Ocasio served on the board of directors for La Casa de Esperanza, Inc. (La Casa) a community-based organization dedicated to serving Waukesha, Wisconsin’s low-income and Latino populations. He also served on the board of directors for the United Community Center (UCC), another community-based organization serving the Latino community in Milwaukee’s south side. In addition to his service to the Latino community, Mr. Ocasio served on various community boards and advisory committees, including the Milwaukee Area Technical College, Boy Scouts of America-Milwaukee Area Council, Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Public Schools, Future Milwaukee Leadership Program, YMCA of Greater Milwaukee, and the Wisconsin Special Olympics.

Mr. Ocasio was born in New York City but returned to Puerto Rico with his family at the age of 13. He left the island after completing high school to attend Carroll College (now University) in Waukesha, Wisconsin, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Spanish Literature. He went on to complete graduate work in Management and Taxation at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
