Rachel Rosales

Rachel Rosales is the Vice President of Research and Grants for Southwest Key, where she provides leadership and expertise in all grants and fundraising activities for the organization. She works in collaboration with Southwest Key’s Board of Directors and executive leadership to secure grant awards, funding and contracts that assist in furthering Southwest Key’s mission and vision.

Rachel has over 20 years of grant writing, research, and evaluation experience in the public and nonprofit sectors. She takes pride in supporting the organization by securing grant funding for its current outstanding programs, as well as to establish new and innovative programs and initiatives throughout the United States. Rachel began her work at Southwest Key in 2003, when the organization had just 600 employees. Over the past 18 years, she has helped coordinate a team of professionals who have been instrumental in supporting Southwest Key to grow to an organization with over 8,000 employees nationwide. During her time with Southwest Key, Rachel has successfully secured millions of dollars in grants for Southwest Key Programs, Southwest Key Workforce Development, and Promesa Public Schools initiatives. In 2011, she received the Southwest Key Programs Angel Award, a national award recognizing employees with demonstrated distinguished service and contributions to Southwest Key, as well as the youth and families they serve.

Prior to her work with Southwest Key, Rachel began her grant writing and evaluation experience as an Environmental Chemist and Epidemiologist for the State of Texas. During this time, she secured millions of dollars in grant funding to support public health-related research, prevention and intervention initiatives targeting Texas’ border regions, underserved and low-income populations, colonial residents and migrant farmworkers. In this position, she co-authored professional public health and scientific journal articles published and disseminated nationwide. As a consultant for a local Community Development Corporation (CDC), Rachel secured government and foundation grant funding to support a multi-phase community development capital campaign in an impoverished region in San Antonio’s west side.

Rachel is committed to using her talents and skills to help underserved and overlooked children, youth and families worldwide. Her hope and goal in this position is to bring much needed assistance, resources and many blessings to these deserving populations and communities one grant at a time.

Rachel received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University.
