Vicky Poenitzsch

Vicky Poenitzsch is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in materials engineering. Currently, Vicky serves as the Manager of the Surface Engineering and Materials Chemistry section in the Materials Engineering Department at Southwest Research Institute, a position held since June 2008. Prior to this role, Vicky held positions as a Principal Scientist and Senior Research Scientist, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of thin films, nanoparticles, and nanocomposite materials. Vicky began a career in research as a Research Scientist with the United States Army, serving in the Medical Services Corps from June 1997 to June 2002. Vicky holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Dallas. Vicky's academic foundation was laid at The Bronx High School of Science.
