Yaxi Liu has a diverse work experience in the field of computer science and energy management. Yaxi has worked as a Lead Computer Scientist at Southwest Research Institute since 2017. Prior to that, they worked at OCI Solar Power LLC as an Energy Management System Designer and Developer, where they played a key role in designing intelligent Energy Management Systems that integrate renewable energy and the power grid. Yaxi was also involved in overseeing the commissioning of a grid scale lithium ion battery energy storage system. Before joining OCI Solar Power, Yaxi worked as a Research Analyst at Southwest Research Institute, where they successfully completed various projects related to electric vehicle fleet integration and energy storage. Yaxi also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Missouri S&T, where they focused on cyber-physical security and renewable smart grid applications. Yaxi's early career included a stint as a Software Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent, where they developed embedded software for SONET Add/Drop Multiplexers.
Yaxi Liu has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, a Certificate of Computer Programming in Computer Science from North Carolina State University, a Master of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Peking University.
