Craig Sorensen has over 20 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. He has expertise in operations management, new facilities construction and inspection and start-up, including a wastewater facility with a design flow in excess of 250 MGD. Mr. Sorensen serves on the Board of Directors for the Shelby County Governmental Services Corporation, as well as the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships. At SouthWest Water Company, he is responsible for all company work in Alabama and South Carolina, and is a contributing engineer to company projects nationwide.
Mr. Sorensen’s specialties include Alabama Governmental Utility Services Corporations (GUSCs), Finance, Construction Management and Constructions Means/Methods. Prior to joining Southwest Water, he served as Director of Operations & Engineering at Novus Utilities, Inc., Engineer/Project Manager at F.W. Dougherty Engineering & Associates, Inc., Tunnel Division Manager/Project Manager at Bolden Pipe Construction Company, Inc. and Senior Engineer at W.L. Hailey & Company, Inc.
Mr. Sorensen earned his B.S. in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and his M.B.A. at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
