Cindy Shanks

Director of IT Equipment & Licensing at Southwestern Illinois College

Cindy Shanks has been working in the IT field for over 20 years. Cindy began their career as an Executive Assistant to the CIO of Southwestern Illinois College. In this role, they were responsible for providing technical support to the President's executive staff and monitoring IT contracts and financial transactions. Cindy also became involved in Business Process Management (BPM), Knowledge Management (KM), and SharePoint implementation efforts during their time in this position.

In February 2011, Shanks became the Asst. Instructional Technology Manager at Southwestern Illinois College. In this role, they developed workshops, trained faculty, and provided LMS certification training and support to faculty and students. Her primary focus was on instructional technologies such as Blackboard (LMS), Student Response Systems (iClicker, Socrative), Google Drive, YouTube for Education, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Prezi, pencasting, and more.

Shanks left their position as Asst. Instructional Technology Manager in August 2017 to become the Director of IT Equipment & Licensing at Southwestern Illinois College. In this role, they are responsible for managing the college's IT equipment and licensing needs.

Cindy Shanks has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Lindenwood University. Cindy also has an A.A.S. in Business Management from Southwestern Illinois College.
