Babette Herne-Howe

Babette Herne-Howe serves as a Management Analyst in Behavioral Health for the Bureau of Indian Education since July 2022. Prior to this role, Babette held the position of Human Services Program Manager at the U.S. Department of the Interior from August 2014 to July 2022, where responsibilities included advising the Division Chief, overseeing budget formulation, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Earlier experience includes roles as National Tribal Court Review Coordinator and Program Analyst for the Bureau of Indian Affairs from July 2007 to August 2014, and as Health & Disabilities Coordinator for the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe from April 2006 to July 2007. Babette’s educational background encompasses multiple degrees in Social Work from institutions such as the University of Vermont and The Catholic University of America, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego.
