Matthew Dorr

Matthew Dorr, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Southwestern Oklahoma State University since May 2024, previously serving in the same role at St. Andrews University from August 2023 to May 2024. During a prior tenure at Bowling Green State University from August 2020 to August 2023, Matthew acted as a Graduate Teaching Instructor in the School of Media and Communication. Additional experience includes roles as a Freelance Photographer, Development and Communications Coordinator for the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce, and Economic Development Specialist for the Tahlequah Industrial Authority. Matthew also contributed as a Project Coordinator and Social Media Manager for the Tahlequah Area Habitat for Humanity and undertook a videography internship at Northeastern State University. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Communication and Media Studies from Bowling Green State University, a Master’s degree and Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Northeastern State University, and an Associate’s Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Tulsa Community College.
