Erika Bistrain Meza

Erika Bistrain Meza has a range of experience in the environmental field. Erika began their career at URS Corporation in 2004 as an Associate Project Manager, where they focused on energy projects and conducted environmental and social assessments. Erika also managed environmental regulations compliance. In 2010, they joined Sowitec de México, where they were responsible for coordinating environmental impact assessment studies and implementing reforestation and flora and fauna rescue programs. Erika then moved to SoWiTec Servicios México in 2011, where they served as the Deputy Head of Department and was responsible for leading the Environmental Impact Assessment Team. Erika also supervised the Golden Eagle and Monarch Butterfly Monitoring Program and managed environmental studies and conditions compliance. Currently, they are the Head of the Environmental Department at SOWITEC GROUP, a position they have held since 2017.

Erika Bistrain Meza obtained their undergraduate degree, Licenciada, in Biology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Erika then pursued further education and obtained a master's degree, Maestra en Ciencias, from the Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas-IPN. Later, they completed a diploma in Leadership from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Additionally, Erika completed a diploma in Environmental Law and Management, with a focus on Environmental Management, from the Centro de Estudios Jurídicos y Ambientales.
