Zeeshan Ashfaq has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. In their most recent position as Managing Director Pakistan at SOWITEC GROUP, they currently hold the role. Prior to this, Zeeshan worked as the Country Representative - Pakistan at World Wind Energy Association from April 2018 to April 2020. Zeeshan also served as a Policy Analyst at the same organization from September 2015 to April 2020.

Additionally, Zeeshan has worked as an Energy Policy Consultant at Heinrich Böll Stiftung Pakistan from August 2016 to December 2017. Zeeshan was also a Research Assistant to a Renewable Energy Fellow at SAARC Energy Centre from May 2015 to August 2015. Moreover, they worked as a Research Associate to Editor at the Journal of Contemporary Studies - NDU from August 2014 to March 2015.

Furthermore, Zeeshan's work experience includes their role as a Government Affairs Assistant at Renewable Resources Private Limited from March 2013 to June 2014. Throughout their professional journey, they have focused on renewable and clean energy policy making, market regulation, capacity building, writing policy papers, and advising governments on renewable energy market development strategy.

Zeeshan Ashfaq pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in International Relations from National Defence University in Islamabad from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Politics and International Relations from International Islamic University in Islamabad, spanning from 2008 to 2014. Zeeshan also attended the Potsdam Summer School in 2016 at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) to study Climate Change Impacts, Mitigation Concepts, and Adaptation Strategies. In 2017 to 2018, they obtained a Certificate in the Regulation of Power Sector from Florence School of Regulation. In the same year, they also attended the International School on Energy Systems 2018 at Forschungszentrum Jülich.
