James Joubert

James Joubert has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. James began their career as a Cashier/Salesman at Multimedia Entertainment in 2010 while also operating their own business as an Owner/Technician at Computer Predator, specializing in computer repairs and custom PC building.

In 2014, James transitioned into the gaming industry, where they served as a QA Tester at 24 Bit Games and Kerosene Games. James then joined ProComGaming as a Core Team Member, responsible for bug and exploit detection, testing gameplay, and executing specialized forms of testing like BVT and Stress Testing. James also engaged in Blender modeling.

James pursued opportunities at Dynamic Visual Technologies (DVT) in 2015, assuming the role of an SQA Automation Scripter. Subsequently, they joined Global Kinetic in 2016 as a QA Automation Tester, contributing to the development, deployment, and maintenance of .NET applications while supporting clients.

At Global Kinetic, James progressed into the position of a .NET Developer, where they continued to develop and maintain microservices and other .NET applications while also managing board progress. James was also tasked with mentoring interns and juniors and contributing to team dynamics.

In 2021, James Joubert moved to Sozo Labs as a Senior Unity Developer. In this role, they focused on managing code and documentation quality, incorporating new standards and technologies, improving team dynamics, and deploying applications to various app stores. James used tools like Unity 3D, C#, .NET Core, and Test Driven Development.

Finally, in 2023, James was promoted to Head of Software Engineering at Sozo Labs, assuming responsibilities such as managing code and documentation quality, researching and implementing new technologies, improving team dynamics and tools, and providing client support. James also conducted developer interviews, mentored employees, and deployed applications to various app stores. James'stoolkit included Unity 3D, C#, .NET Core, and Agile methodologies.

James Joubert is an individual with a strong educational background in the field of Information Technology. James began their education in 2009 at Boland College Stellenbosch, where they obtained an NCV IT Certificate in Information Technology, which they completed in 2011. Following this, from 2012 to 2015, they attended Cape Peninsula University of Technology and earned a National Diploma in Information Technology with a focus on Software Development.
