William Rittershaus has extensive work experience in the military and defense industry. William started their career in 2003 with the United States Air Force, where they attended the Air Command & Staff College. After completing their education, they worked in various roles at the Air Staff, specializing in acquisition and modernization processes. William served as the Chairman of the RDT&E Panel and later as the Chief of the Corporate Integration Team. In 2007, they led a team in the development and implementation of an automated source selection tool. In 2008, they commanded the 45th Range Management Squadron, overseeing operations and maintenance of critical launch facilities. From 2009 to 2010, they served as the Deputy Commander of the 45th Launch Group, responsible for space launch-related activities at Cape Canaveral. In 2011, they joined the Air Staff again as the Chief of the Air Dominance Division. From 2012 to 2014, they served as the Vice Commander of the 50th Space Wing, leading thousands of personnel in support of satellite operations. In 2014, they moved to the Air Staff again, serving as the Deputy Director of Space Programs, and later as the Chief of the Space Support & Surveillance Division. In 2016, they joined Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. as a Senior System Engineer, and in 2018, they became the Director of Huntsville Operations. Throughout their career, Rittershaus has demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to handle complex projects and operations.
William Rittershaus has a diverse education history. William first attended South Dakota State University from 1987 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics. Following this, in 1997 to 1999, they pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration/Organizational Management at The George Washington University. In the same year range as their first degree, they also completed a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University. Moving forward to 2003 to 2004, Rittershaus attended Air Command & Staff College, earning a Master's Degree in Military Operational Art and Science/Studies. Lastly, from 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies at Air War College.
