Michael Fraunberger

Structures Engineer at Space Works

Michael Fraunberger has held a variety of positions in the engineering field since 2016. Michael began as a Research Assistant at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, where they worked under Dr. Baker in a materials science project that involved the mechanical milling of metal powders for joining under an alternating magnetic field. In 2017, they became a Teaching Assistant at the same school. In 2018, they held positions at Dartmouth Physics Department as a Space Grant Research Assistant and at NASA Ames Research Center as an Aeromechanics Intern. In 2019, they worked as an Inertial Student Associate at LORD Corporation. Finally, in 2020, they began their current role as a Mechanical Engineer I at AeroVironment and will be transitioning to a role as Structures Engineer at SpaceWorks Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) in 2022.

Michael Fraunberger received their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth in 2020. Michael also obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Engineering Physics from Dartmouth College in 2019. In 2017, they completed a Bachelor's of Engineering degree in Engineering Physics from the DTU - Technical University of Denmark. In addition, they obtained a Fundamentals of Engineering General Exam from NCEES in February of 2020 and is a Certified SolidWorks Associate.
