At Spaceship, we're on a mission to transform the way people think about and invest their money. We started in 2017 with Spaceship Super, and in 2018 we launched Spaceship Voyager, which is making investing easy for everyone. In 2023, we launched a new US Investing service.

Since launch, we have grown to more than 200,000 financial members and surpassed $1.3 billion in funds under management – but we're just getting started.

What will you be doing?

As a Frontend Engineer at Spaceship, you will be shaping the way investing looks like on web and mobile. You will work in a modern stack, with a focus on simplicity, developer experience, and most importantly, providing the best possible user interaction for our customers.

Frontend Engineers at Spaceship are both keen learners and experts within their field. They care about performance, design patterns, reusability, state management, testing and design systems. Our stack enables us to ship quickly, experiment and iterate on new features, and ship with confidence.  

In short, you will play a central role in building our products, driving growth, and shaping what the future of investment looks like as code!

What are we looking for?

  • 3-5+ years in a product-focused, frontend engineering role.
  • Professional experience using:
    • Typescript
    • React
    • React Native 
  • Proficient with CSS-in-JS libraries, frameworks, design patterns and systems, such as:
    • Styled Components, Emotion
    • Styled System, TailwindCSS
  • Proficient with testing libraries and frameworks, such as:
    • React Testing Library
    • Jest / Mocha / Chai
    • Cypress / Detox
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms and workflows, particularly Github Actions.

What would be nice to have?

  • Have experience building and maintaining NextJS / SSG websites, integrated with a CMS such as Prismic or Contentful.
  • Proficiency in data fetching and state management patterns, such as with Apollo and React hooks (vanilla, or with libraries such as React Query / SWR).
  • Have experience building or using monorepos, such as Yarn Workspaces and/or Lerna, bonus points if you have published and/or maintain an npm package.
  • Comfortable with or without state management libraries, using React context and hooks to implement non-trivial user journeys. 
  • You have a startup/ agile mentality, and an interest in FinTech and investing.
