Michael Nicolls

Michael Nicolls serves as the Vice President of Starlink Engineering at SpaceX since November 2020, where previous roles included Senior Director and Director of Starlink Network. Prior to SpaceX, Michael co-founded and directed LeoLabs, Inc. from December 2015 to May 2021, and held the position of Staff Scientist and Program Manager at SRI International's Center for Geospace Studies from October 2006 to June 2016. Additional experience includes a brief tenure as Staff Scientist at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in 2012 and as a Post-doctoral Associate at Arecibo Observatory in 2006. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University, where also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the same field.
