Austin Ladshaw

Austin Ladshaw has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Their most recent position was as a Staff Modeling Engineer at SPAN, where they started in April 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Modeling Engineer at the same company from July 2022 to April 2023.

Before joining SPAN, Austin worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an R&D Associate Staff Member from January 2020 to July 2022. In this role, they were involved in project management, mathematical modeling, and programming projects related to catalysis and electro-chemical catalysis. Austin also contributed to communications efforts, including authoring user manuals and peer-reviewed publications.

Prior to their time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Austin served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology from May 2017 to January 2020. In this position, they focused on mathematical modeling and programming projects related to adsorption problems in aqueous and gas systems. Additionally, they gained experience as a Trades Associate (Intern) at Gwinnett County Water Resources in the summer of 2008.

Austin Ladshaw's education history begins with a Bachelor's degree in Science from Georgia College & State University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2008. Austin then pursued another Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, completing it between 2009 and 2011. Subsequently, they went on to earn a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology from the same institution, studying from 2012 to 2017.

Additionally, Austin has obtained two certifications. In January 2012, they acquired the Engineer In-Training certification from the Georgia State Board of Registration for Engineers & Land Surveyors. In May 2018, they received the Tech-to-Teching Foundational and Capstone Certificate from the Georgia Institute of Technology's Center for Teaching and Learning.
