Associate Director, Qc, Late-phase Clinical And Commercial Programs at Spark Therapeutics

Cynthia Moffat has extensive work experience in the field of quality control (QC) and research. Cynthia currently works at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. as an Associate Director, overseeing the Bio-Analytical QC team responsible for release and stability testing of Phase III and Commercial Programs. Cynthia represents QC in regulatory interactions and collaborates cross-functionally for post-marketing commitments and process characterization studies. Prior to this, they worked as the QC Commercial Testing Operations Lead at Spark Therapeutics.

Before joining Spark Therapeutics, Cynthia worked at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a QC Supervisor, where they coordinated QC analyst workflow, managed timelines, and implemented organizational tools to improve project management and transparency. Cynthia also developed novel techniques for assessing the identity, safety, and purity of clinical-grade viral vector products. Prior to their role as a QC Supervisor, they worked as a QC Analyst, performing biochemical and microbiological assays, clean room monitoring, and acting as the QC manager when required.

Cynthia'searlier work experience includes being a Research Assistant at Thomas Jefferson University, where they worked as an acting lab manager in a bioenergetics lab. Cynthia'sresearch focused on the mechanisms of Acot2 and its role in lipid metabolism, in addition to collaborating with other labs on studying MICU1's role in liver metabolism and regeneration. Cynthia utilized animal models, cell cultures, and gene expression manipulation tools to map out the roles of these proteins in disease models and healthy systems.

Cynthia also briefly worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Cynthia Moffat holds a High School Diploma from Lisgar Collegiate Institute, which they obtained in 2003. Cynthia then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, completing it in 2007. Cynthia further expanded their knowledge in the field by obtaining a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, which they completed in 2010.
