Katherine Perkins

Katherine Perkins has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Corporate Counsel and Legal Operations Lead at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. In this position, they lead a team of contract specialists and designs operational processes to increase efficiency and collaboration between the legal department and business stakeholders.

Prior to their current role, Katherine worked as the Senior Counsel and Legal Director at Cardone Industries, where they advised all business units on commercial contracts and coordinated cross-functionally to mitigate risk, update agreements, cut costs, and grow the business.

Before that, they served as the Corporate Counsel and Head of Contracts at Holtec International, where they advised management on risk mitigation, process improvements, and compliance with regulations. Katherine also updated company-wide contract templates and created resource materials for various topics.

Katherine's earlier experiences include working as an Associate Attorney at Kaufman Coren & Ress, P.C., where they handled various civil litigation matters, and as a Judicial Clerk for the U.S. District Court.

Katherine also gained valuable experience as a Legal Intern at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Market America, Inc., and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Additionally, Katherine worked as an Annuity Internal Wholesaler at Lincoln Financial Distributors and as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor at the YMCA of Greensboro.

Katherine Perkins earned their Juris Doctor degree from Elon University School of Law in 2015. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006. In addition to their formal education, Katherine has obtained certifications as an Attorney in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Katherine also holds various insurance licenses, including Long-Term Care & Medicaid Supplement Insurance, Life & Health Insurance, and Series 6, Series 63 - Securities Licenses. Furthermore, they possess an Adult, Child, & Infant CPR/AED & First Aid Certification from the American Red Cross.
