Rebecca Doherty has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. Rebecca started their career as a GIS Technologist at County of Lethbridge in September 2008 and worked until May 2011. After that, they joined Paragon Soil and Environmental Consulting Inc. as a GIS Manager, where they worked from May 2011 to January 2015. Rebecca then worked as a GeoSpatial Analyst at FORCORP from February 2015 to February 2020. Rebecca owned and managed their own small business, Stonepost Farms, since May 2016, where they were responsible for various aspects such as marketing, business development, and farm management. In May 2021, Rebecca became the Executive Director at West-Central Forage Association, where they worked until January 2023. Currently, they are employed as a Technical Project Manager at Sparkgeo, starting from January 2023.
Rebecca Doherty has an educational background in the field of geography and remote sensing. Rebecca obtained a Master's of Science degree in Remote Sensing from The University of Lethbridge, from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's of Science degree in Geography and GIS from The University of Lethbridge, from 2006 to 2008. Rebecca also holds a Diploma in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from Olds College, which they completed from 2004 to 2006.
Additionally, Rebecca has obtained several certifications to complement their education. Rebecca received a certification in Holistic Management from the Savory Institute in June 2022. In January 2022, they completed a certification program titled "Being a Leader" from Unstoppable Conversations. Furthermore, in June 2021, they obtained a Permaculture Design Certificate from Verge Permaculture.
