Avinash Kulkarni

Avinash Kulkarni is a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in software and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Bird since May 2021, Avinash leads the SMTP Delivery squad at SparkPost, overseeing the design and development of core email sending infrastructure for the SparkPost cloud product. With a career spanning several roles, Avinash has been an Engineering Manager at SparkPost since January 2019, and previously held positions as Lead Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer at Message Systems, and Senior Software Engineer at Port25 Solutions, Inc. Avinash's earlier experience includes working as a Senior Systems/Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard, where responsibilities involved building firmware for enterprise-grade storage arrays. Avinash holds a Master's in Engineering (Computer Science) from Cornell University and two Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science from B. M. S. College of Engineering and Visvesvaraya Technological University.
