Dr. Roth is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine, shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. Dr. Roth graduated both undergraduate and medical school from Duke University. After completing his orthopedic training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, Dr. Roth completed his sports medicine fellowship training at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Dr. Roth served as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Angels, the Anaheim Ducks as well as the University of Southern California. He has additionally consulted on orthopedic issues with the New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics baseball clubs. Dr. Roth continues to take care of numerous collegiate and high-school level athletes. He currently serves as the medical consultant to several Broadway musicals, including Disney’s “The Lion King” and “Tarzan.”
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Roth returned to the full-time faculty of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery as well as the assistant director of the sports medicine service. In 2003, Dr. Roth joined the staff of the prestigious orthopedic teaching hospital, Lenox Hill in New York City, where he still practices. Dr. Roth serves on both the Medical Education Committee and Sports Medicine
Fellowship Committee. Dr. Roth is additionally on the staff at White Plains Hospital.
Dr. Roth has been featured on numerous local and national television news programs regarding the latest innovative techniques on knee and shoulder surgery. Dr Roth currently serves as the president and chair of the executive board of one of New Jersey’s largest ambulatory surgery centers after several years service on the operating committee. Dr. Roth is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has lectured both nationally and internationally and has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Roth serves as the Co-Chair of Duke University’s Annual Fund Advisory Board.
