Product Manager at Sparta Science

Emma Munch has worked as a Product Manager at Sparta Science since November 2022. Before that, they worked at Personalis, Inc. from June 2021 to November 2022, initially as a Bioinformatics Pipeline Development Engineer and later as a Bioinformatics Pipeline Development Engineer II. At Personalis, they developed and evaluated an algorithm to detect contamination and pioneered the use of Nextflow to manage pipelines.

Prior to that, Emma worked at USC Image Processing and Informatics Lab as an Undergraduate Researcher from March 2019 to June 2021. Emma also had an internship as a Data Science Intern at IONpath Inc. from January 2020 to February 2020, where they trained and tested convolutional neural network models and developed a plot generation pipeline.

Additionally, Emma had an Engineering Internship at Bruker Nano Surfaces in summer 2018, where they worked on a test matrix for a focus variation product and designed icons for the software. Emma also built and populated help content for the software. Emma's earliest work experience was as a Data Intern at Takara Bio USA, Inc. in June 2016, where they transferred product descriptions to a new website's CMS platform and assisted with webpage formatting.

Emma Munch completed their high school education at Henry M. Gunn High School from 2013 to 2017, earning a high school diploma. Emma then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Southern California from 2017 to 2021.
