Mark Smethurst

Mark Smethurst is a military advisory board member at Sparta Science. Mark previously worked as a senior consultant to Kiah Consulting from January 2020 to September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Global SOF Foundation and Kord Defence Pty Ltd. Mark also has experience working at Austability and CISTECH Solutions. In October 2018, they joined the WithYouWithMe advisory board where they helped create opportunities for veterans. From February 2017 to March 2019, they served as Commissioner for the NSW State Emergency Service. From July 2013 to December 2014, they were the Deputy Director of Operations at United States Special Operations Command.

Mark Smethurst has a Masters of Management from the Centre for Defence & Strategic Studies at Deakin University, a Master's degree in Strategic & Defence Studies from the Australian Command and Staff College at the University of Canberra, and a Bachelor of Arts - BA from UNSW - Royal Military College Duntroon.
