Paul Laight

Paul Laight has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Paul is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Sparta Commodities since 2022. Previously, from 2017 to 2022, they served as the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of LEM Verify, a web-based identity verification platform. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2021, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Arena Entertainment, where they designed and launched a global free-to-play gaming platform.

From 2013 to 2017, Paul co-founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer of Gametech UK Ltd, a retail binary betting platform. Additionally, in 2013, they co-founded Revealr Software Limited and developed the world's first voice-focused dating app, which was later acquired by Venntro Media Group.

Before these ventures, Paul held the position of Chief Technology Officer at various companies. Paul was the CTO of Derwent Capital Markets Ltd. from 2012 to 2013, where they created the world's first multi-asset trading platform using Twitter sentiment as the main trading indicator. Prior to that, they worked as the Lead Quantitative Developer at RedKite Financial Markets from 2011 to 2012, where they managed a team and developed algorithmic trading solutions.

In 2009, Paul founded QuantX Automation Ltd, a financial markets consultancy, where they provided specialized services in trading and risk management. Paul also worked as a Quantitative Developer at MF Global from 2008 to 2009, where they integrated a binary product into the company's retail offerings.

Their career began in 2006 when they founded Choice Gaming Limited and served as the Chief Technology Officer. Paul successfully sold the company to MF Global in 2008. During their time at Choice Gaming, they developed a retail financial binary and fixed-odds betting service and was responsible for pricing, trading, and risk management.

Throughout their career, Paul has gained expertise in various programming languages and technologies, including Java, Python, MySQL, Ruby on Rails, and AWS. Paul has experience in raising investments, designing and developing products, managing teams, and implementing trading algorithms.

Paul Laight obtained a BSc degree in Physics from the University of Birmingham between 1999 and 2002. Paul completed their education by pursuing an MSc degree in Financial Mathematics at the University of Warwick from 2002 to 2003.
