Sawa Nakagawa

Sawa Nakagawa has extensive work experience in the impact investing sector. From 2010 to 2015, Sawa was the Principal of Equity Investments & Special Projects at Absa Capital. From 2015 to 2016, Sawa was the Chief Executive Officer of E Squared Investments. From 2016 to 2021, Sawa was a Trustee of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, a member of the Investment Committee and Audit Committee. In 2018, Sawa was the Founder & Partner of ThreeArrows Impact Partner and a Non Executive Director of Spartan. In 2019, Sawa was an Advisor of the Young Entrepreneur Fund at African Leadership Academy, Co-Founder of Japan Impact Investing Network (J-IIN) and an Expert Reference Panel Member of Social Economy Policy at the Economic Development Department. In 2021, Sawa was appointed as a Member of the Investment Advisory Council at Equality Fund.

Sawa Nakagawa has an extensive education history. Sawa holds an MBA in Finance and Social Enterprise from Columbia Business School, a Master in International Affairs (MIA) in Economic and Political Development from Columbia | SIPA, and a BA in Humanities from International Christian University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Certificate in ESG Investing from CFA Institute in December 2021, Breakthrough Innovation from Columbia Business School in February 2021, Business Innovation from IDEO U in September 2020, and Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute in 2011. Sawa is also in the process of obtaining certifications from Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
