Adam Siegfried

Professor of Chemistry at Spartanburg Methodist College

Adam Siegfried is currently a Professor of Chemistry at Spartanburg Methodist College. Prior to this, they were an REU Academic Fellow at Furman University, Greenville Literacy Association, Inc., Spartanburg Methodist College, and Anderson University. Adam has also been a Research Assistant at Clemson University and has experience in teaching Chemistry 101, designing syllabi, grading exams and quizzes, and providing lectures on the basics of chemistry. Adam has also conducted structure solutions for both organic and inorganic crystals using SHEXTL, grown single crystals of organo-halide cocrystals, developed and executed mechnochemical synthesis of cocrystals allowing for prediction of cocrystal ratios, performed thermal analysis through TGA and DSC, grew single crystals of silver vanadium phosphate open-framework materials, maintained the integrity of a nitrogen-purged glove-box, and performed quartz glass blowing to form reaction vessels.

Adam Siegfried's educational career began with a B.A. in Chemistry from Coker University. Adam then went on to earn an M.S. in Inorganic Chemistry from Clemson University. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic solid state chemistry and supramolecular chemistry from Clemson University.
