Derek Tufts

Derek Tufts has over 25 years of experience in human resources and leadership roles. Derek started their career at Toys"R"Us as a Regional Human Resources Manager and later transitioned into a District Manager role. Derek then worked at OfficeMax as a Director of Field Human Resources, leading a team that supported 17 districts and over 300 stores. Derek implemented successful talent review and succession planning processes. After that, they joined Art Van Furniture as the Director of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, where they developed and implemented strategic plans for staffing, employee relations, compensation, development, and retention. Derek is currently working at SpartanNash as the Vice President of Human Resources, where they provide executive HR leadership for retail, supply chain, and corporate functions. Derek focuses on improving HR processes and serves as a trusted advisor to the business and their 17,500 employees.

Derek Tufts completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resources from Eastern Michigan University from 1990 to 1995.
