Russell Layton is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience in the medical device industry and mechanical engineering. As the Founder and CEO of Sparx Hockey since October 2013, Russell oversees the development and manufacturing of skate sharpening equipment, serving clients globally. Previously, Russell held senior roles at Hologic, where responsibilities included business development and R&D for women's health products, and at GE Healthcare, leading cross-functional teams in surgical instrument development. Additionally, Russell contributes as an investor and member of TBD Angels and RPM Training Co., and as a mentor in The McCarthy(s) Venture Mentoring Network. Russell holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.
