As our Layout Technician, you will ensure precise and accurate surveying throughout the construction process to support the successful execution of each project. Every day we'll rely on you to provide critical support to the superintendent in quality control and field management, ensuring the utmost quality in all executed work. To thrive in this role, you should possess strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine passion for providing the absolute best construction experience.

What you'll do

  • Accurate Construction Layout and Measurement: Provide precise construction layouts, including control lines and elevations, to ensure accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts.
  • Site Surveying and Conflict Prevention: Survey existing site conditions to identify and prevent conflicts with utility lines and other infrastructure.
  • Coordination and Verification: Coordinate with the project team to verify the location of structures during construction and ensure work is completed according to specifications and codes.
  • Control Points and Accuracy: Establish, maintain, and use control points and benchmarks, ensuring the accuracy of all surveying methods and work performed.
  • Documentation and Equipment Maintenance: Document survey activities, retain records, read and check construction plans, address survey issues, and maintain survey equipment.

What you bring to the team

  • Previous layout experience and knowledge with design software and robotics/GPS instrumentation in commercial construction, preferred
  • Flexibility in your work schedule
