Jo Barker

Jo Barker has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. They have held various roles in different organizations.

From 2020 to the present, Jo Barker has worked at Speakers for Schools. They started as a Strategic Employer Consultant and later became the Head of Engagement for London and the South East. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Engagement for London.

Prior to Speakers for Schools, from 2005 to 2020, Jo Barker worked at Inspire! Education Business Partnership. They held several roles during their tenure, including Senior Manager - Business Development, Senior Programme Manager - Employer Engagement, Employer Engagement Manager, Senior Employer Liaison Officer, and Employer Liaison Officer. They played a crucial role in employer engagement, leading a team and overseeing work experience programs for students across three boroughs.

In 2009, Jo Barker took a sabbatical for overseas travel.

Before Inspire!, Jo Barker worked at the National Union of Teachers as a Clerical Assistant from 2004 to 2005.

In 2002, Jo Barker started their career at EYDCP - Southend on Sea Borough Council as a Receptionist/Administration Assistant, where they worked until 2004.

Jo Barker attended Woodlands School from 1991 to 1996, where they obtained GCSEs in various subjects. Later, from 1999 to 2001, they attended the Kent Institute of Art & Design and obtained an HND degree in Fashion.
