Mark Slaven is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Speaking Schools Australasia since August 2014. Mark was a Tipstaff at NSW Courts from August 2016 to January 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Solicitor at McCabes Lawyers from February 2014 to July 2016. Mark also served as the Business Manager at Speak Out Education from February 2013 to February 2014. Before that, they worked as a Disabilities Support Worker at CatholicCare from January 2006 to January 2014. Additionally, they were the Chief Adjudicator at FED Interschool Debating Competition in 2013.

Mark Slaven holds a Master's Degree in Law specializing in Environmental Law from The Australian National University, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the same institution in 2014. Mark also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Macquarie University, which they earned from 2008 to 2013 and 2008 to 2012, respectively. Mark Slaven completed their high school education at St Aloysius' College, obtaining their High School Diploma (HSC) from 1999 to 2007.
