Field Application Scientist:

We are looking to hire a client-oriented and technically savvy Field Application Scientist to support our West Coast clients, located in/near any of the following geographies: San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver (with travel throughout the West Coast and to HQ in Woburn, MA). The role will include sales and technical support, customer onboarding and training, and generation of data for strategic partners and customers. The Field Application Scientist is expected to provide expertise on Spear Bio’s platform, technology, workflow, and applications to ensure customer success and overall product performance.

Requirements:  

• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or Bioengineering with 1-2+ years of industry experience or BS/MS with 3+ years industry experience focused on selling, delivering, and supporting technical services or products to customers within the biotech or diagnostic industries

• Strong understanding of immunoassay applications, technologies, methods, and strategies

• Liquid handling and automated assay experience preferred

• Experience providing technical expertise and support to customers within a biotech-focused service or commercial organization

• Experience adopting novel techniques, software, and instrumentation, developing workflows, and training others

General Requirements: 

• Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail and commitment to customer success

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Good interpersonal (verbal communication) skills with ability to put customers at ease, convey information in a clear and concise manner, and listen attentively to acquire feedback

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively or within a team and adapt quickly to change

• Ability to travel (up to 50%)   - primarily domestic travel, some international travel may be required
