Darrin Bird

Darrin Bird has extensive work experience in various roles within the metals industry. Darrin most recently served as the Director of Engineering and Operational Excellence at Special Metals since October 2019. Before this, they worked as the Director Of Sales Marketing at PCC Energy Group from January to September 2019. In 2018, they held the position of Director of Production Planning at Special Metals. In 2017, they worked at PCC Energy Group as the Director Of Special Projects, where they carried out special projects including evaluating operational options and providing strategic recommendations. Darrin also briefly served as the Interim General Manager during this time. From 2014 to 2017, Darrin worked at Special Metals as the General Manager and Plant Director. Prior to that, they worked at Precision Castparts as the General Manager from 2012 to 2014. Darrin started their career at Special Metals in 1990, holding various positions before becoming the VP of Operations from 2008 to 2012.

Darrin Bird completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Operations Research from Virginia Tech, where they studied from 1984 to 1987. After a gap of several years, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Marshall University, attending from 1999 to 2001.
