Special Olympics Bharat
Kalash Kaushal has extensive experience in communications, youth initiatives, and community outreach, primarily with Special Olympics Bharat, where roles have included Manager and Assistant Manager in Initiatives and Communications, as well as various positions on youth committees. Currently serving as a Youth Advisor at YuWaah India under UNICEF, Kalash founded and managed GirlUp Aashayein from 2020 to 2023. Additional experience includes social media and marketing roles across multiple organizations, highlighting a strong focus on mental health advocacy and inclusive community initiatives. Kalash holds an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from Delhi University and is pursuing postgraduate studies in Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as Sports Journalism.
Special Olympics Bharat
Special Olympics Bharat is an accredited program of Special Olympics International which was founded by Eunice Kenedy Shriver. Special Olympics Bharat was Founded in 1987 as Special Olympics India and changed to Special Olympics Bharat in 2001 with 37,546 registered athletes. Under the chairmanship of Air Marshal Denzil Keelor, Special Olympics Bharat has reached many heights and now it is one of the best program with 8,50,000 registered athletes. Special Olympics Bharat has received prestigious nationwide recognition and is being accredited by Sports Authority of India & Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports enabling them to access government funds to ensure their presence at national and international competition. Our Mission is "to provide year–round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic–type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community". The main motive behind this movement is to build communities and bring inclusion in the society.
