Alana Inness has over 15 years of work experience in talent management, leadership development, and employee experience. Alana has held various roles in different organizations, including Specsavers, LV=, Kingfisher plc, B&Q, and Getfeedback.
At Specsavers, Alana is currently the Global Head of Talent & Resourcing, leading a team of 30 experts responsible for recruitment, employer branding, and talent management. Prior to that, they worked as the Learning and Development Manager, where they focused on creating a more aligned message and approach to leadership communication and development.
During their time at LV=, Alana served as the Talent Management & Leadership Manager, where they built and embedded tools for effective performance management, succession planning, and career development. Alana also created a mentoring exchange approach to encourage underrepresented groups to engage in mentoring relationships.
At Kingfisher plc, Alana worked as the Global Talent Manager, designing and implementing a talent agenda across 11 European countries. Alana also filled the role of Global Employee Experience Manager, where they defined and designed the employee experience for Kingfisher companies.
Before joining these organizations, Alana worked at B&Q, where they served as the Performance and Selection Lead, redesigning performance management systems and promoting brain-friendly techniques to enhance individual and business performance.
Alana started their career at Getfeedback as a Principal Consultant, specializing in talent assessment, development, and employee experience. Alana led projects such as high potential and succession programs and conducted assessment centers for strategic and graduate roles.
Throughout their career, Alana has demonstrated strong leadership, team management, and strategic planning skills, effectively supporting organizations in their talent and development initiatives.
Alana Inness earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from The Open University, which they attended from 2007 to 2009. Alana also completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Oxford Brookes University from 2002 to 2005 and a Post-graduate Certificate in Management from the same institution in 2001-2002. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Certified Principal Business Psychologist from The Association for Business Psychology in 2021 and became a Fellow of The LPI (Learning and Performance Institute) in 2023. Alana Inness also holds an Associate Member status with CIPD and is certified as an Occupational Test User for Personality & Ability (formerly Levels A and B) by The British Psychological Society, both of which were obtained in 2009.
