John Rolando

VP, Director of Technology Development Division at Spectral Labs

John Rolando is currently the VP, Director of Technology Development Division at Spectral Labs. John has over 10 years of experience in the field of radiation detection and has worked on various projects for companies such as JMAR, LLC and Space Micro Inc.

Rolando started their career as a Jr. Engineering Physicist at Space Micro Inc. where they were responsible for test development and data collection of gamma radiation detection systems. John also performed data analysis and developed location and peak finding algorithms. In 2007, they lead the development for a NASA Ames project which involved UV-EEPROMs for dosimeters aboard satellites.

In 2008, Rolando moved to JMAR, LLC where they were primarily responsible for test engineering (including circuit design and software development) and data analysis for programs involving detection of gamma radiation. John also spent a good deal of time on embedded software development and participated in grant writing support. In 2009, they developed MatLab code for control and data acquisition of a Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) system developed for the US Army.

John Rolando has a B.S. in Physics from UC San Diego.

John Rolando reports to Jim Winso, President & CEO. They work with Eric Ackermann - COO, Rhett Barnes - CTO.
