Richard Harvey

Richard Harvey has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Richard started their career as a System Software Engineer at ECI Telecom from 1996 to 1998. Richard then worked at Conexant as a System Software Engineer, leading software teams and representing the company in IEEE 802.17 standardization group from 1998 to 2002.

In 2002, Richard co-founded EM Design Group and worked as a Co-Founder until 2004. Richard then briefly worked as a Software Engineer at Colorado vNet in the same year.

From 2004 to 2006, Richard returned to SpectraLink / Polycom as a Software Engineer. Richard was responsible for the development of 900MHz and Wi-Fi product lines used in Healthcare, Retail, and Manufacturing verticals as a Product Manager from 2007 to 2009.

Richard joined Polycom in 2010 as a Software Engineer, leading the embedded development of Bluetooth on Linux-based Wi-Fi handsets. In 2011, they transitioned to Spectralink Corporation and held multiple roles, including Senior Product Manager, Senior Technical Consultant, Director of Technology Solutions, Manager of Systems Engineering, and Director of Systems Engineering.

Currently, Richard is the Director of Software, Cloud and Platform Systems at Spectralink Corporation since December 2022. In this role, they manage internal and external teams developing AWS-based cloud-based analytics and device management platforms. Richard is responsible for the architecture, design, and operation of systems.

Richard Harvey holds a Master's Degree in Telecommunications & Information Systems from the University of Essex, which was obtained from 1994 to 1995. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Swansea University, from 1991 to 1994.

In addition to their formal education, Richard has obtained several certifications. These include being a Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP) and a Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP), both from CWNP, in February 2020 and January 2020, respectively. Richard is also an Amazon Web Services Developer - Associate, certified by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2019. Richard holds further certifications such as Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP) and Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), both from CWNP, obtained in June 2019 and February 2019, respectively. Richard is an Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate, certified by AWS in April 2018. Furthermore, Richard has earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)², but the specific month of attainment is not provided. Richard has additional certifications pending, including Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) - Foundation, Practical Product Management, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
