Damon DePaoli

Manager, Innovation & Technology Strategy at SpectraWAVE, Inc.

Damon DePaoli has a diverse work experience in the field of innovation, technology strategy, and research. Damon currently holds the position of Manager of Innovation & Technology Strategy at SpectraWAVE, Inc. since 2022, as well as the role of Senior Research Scientist at the same company from 2021 to 2022. Prior to this, Damon served as a Scientific Advisor at Zilia starting in November 2021.

In terms of academic research, Damon worked as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School from January 2020 to June 2021. Damon pursued their PhD in Neurosurgical Optical Guidance at Université Laval, starting in September 2016 and completing it in December 2019. Damon also earned their MSc in the same field from the same university from September 2014 to August 2016.

Additionally, Damon worked as a Biophotonics Scientist at Zilia from September 2017 to September 2018. Earlier in their career, they served as a Biomedical Engineering Researcher at the University of Victoria from September 2013 to January 2014. Prior to that, they were an NSERC Electrical Engineering Researcher from May 2013 to September 2013, and a Technical Analyst from September 2011 to April 2013 at the same university.

Damon DePaoli's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled at the University of Victoria to pursue a Bachelor's of Engineering (B.Eng) degree in Electrical Engineering. Damon completed this program in 2014.

In the same year, Damon also joined Université Laval and started their Master of Science (MSc) program in Biophotonics. Damon continued their studies at Université Laval and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biophotonics in 2019.
