Damien Phillips

Damien Phillips is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, currently serving as Group General Counsel at Spectris plc since May 2011. In this role, Damien leads the legal and compliance functions, directing efforts in M&A to support the company’s strategy for sustainable growth. Prior positions at Spectris plc include Head of M&A and Chief Counsel M&A and Industrial Solutions, where Damien focused on risk mitigation, transaction oversight, and complex negotiations. Prior to joining Spectris, Damien was an Associate at Shoosmiths and a Solicitor at Denton Wilde Sapte, where training and foundational legal skills were developed. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Leeds and a Legal Practice Course from Nottingham Law School.
