Mariette van Ryn

Mariette Van Ryn is an experienced board member and independent director currently serving on the Board of the Financial Markets Authority in New Zealand since August 2024 and as part of the Board of Trustees for the Spectrum Foundation since 2021. With extensive experience in governance, Mariette has held roles including Tribunal and Special Division Member at the New Zealand Markets Disciplinary Tribunal from 2012 to July 2024, Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Milford from 2016 to 2019, and Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Nurture Foundation for Reproductive Research from 2008 to 2019. Other notable positions include General Manager at the Catholic Diocese of Auckland from 2016 to 2018 and Group Executive at Westpac from 2007 to 2015. Mariette holds degrees in Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from The University of Auckland and completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.
