Sophia Gardner

Sophia Gardner, LMSW, is the Director of International Programs at Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children since November 2020, after serving as Senior Manager of Pre & Post Adoption Services. Previously, Sophia held the role of Manager for Permanency, Client Services & Training and Coordinator for Permanency Services at Spence-Chapin. Experience also includes working as an Adoption Specialist at Adoptive Family Travel - The Ties Program, and contributing to UNICEF initiatives in India aimed at child protection and care. Early career roles involved clinical social work at Walker and program management for the Volunteer Mentor Program at Cambridge Family and Children's Service, where significant mentoring initiatives were developed. Sophia holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College and a B.A. in Anthropology from Brandeis University, along with additional qualifications in digital photography.
