Chief Technology Officer at Speros

Brian Smith has a long and varied work experience in the IT field, beginning in 2002 as an IT Server Manager at Atrium Health Floyd. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing and coordinating technological strategy and direction, as well as process and quality improvement, administering IT corporate standards compliance, asset management, project planning and management, budgeting, forecasting, and customer relationship management. Brian also supervised various facets of the business regularly, from basic human resources to yearly planning to supplier management. During their time in this role, they were able to spearhead IT teams in the design, construction, implementation, management, support, and enhancement of key technologies, as well as lead a technical staff of 15 people.

In 2009, Brian Smith moved to a role as IT Network Manager at Atrium Health Floyd. In this role, they were responsible for performing key duties such as upgrading or replacing network infrastructure, preparing yearly budgeting, replacing private branch exchange (PBX), and managing low voltage. Brian was also responsible for sustaining wireless infrastructure and telephone system while patching switches, resolving issues, and providing tier one support. Brian was able to save $3 million on network replacement during this role.

In 2015, Brian Smith moved to a role as Network Engineer at Atrium Health Floyd. In this role, they were responsible for delivering network support services for devices, such as hubs, bridges, routers, and other hardware, as well as installing route-based IP network solutions from inception to completion. Brian was able to configure, manage, and troubleshoot VoIP and multi-media distributed systems and platforms, as well as maximize network performance and uptime by selecting and deploying Cisco infrastructure in collaboration with vendors.

Brian Smith is currently in the role of Chief Technology Officer at Speros, a position they have held since 2022.

Brian Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science Technical Management from DeVry University between 2009 and 2012. Brian also holds a certification in ITIL 2011.
