James Truax

James Truax has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles in the IT industry. James recently worked as the Director of Technical Support at Spinnaker Support. Prior to that, they served as a Consultant at Elevation IT Group.

Before their roles at Spinnaker Support and Elevation IT Group, James worked at Poly and Polycom. At Poly, they held the position of Sr Director, Enterprise Systems, where they were responsible for leading global IT strategy and managing infrastructure engineering and operations. At Polycom, they held multiple roles including Sr. Director of Enterprise Systems and Director of Enterprise Systems, Storage, and Database. In these roles, they led various projects and initiatives to reduce operating costs, introduce policy and procedures, and improve infrastructure and governance.

Prior to their time at Poly and Polycom, James worked at Brocade as the Director of Database and Application Administration and the Sr Manager of Database Administration. James provided enterprise leadership for corporate application infrastructure, and managed the global applications and corporate reporting functions.

Before joining Brocade, James worked at McDATA as a Sr Manager of Database Administration, where they managed global applications and corporate reporting, including Oracle E-Business Suite and back-end application databases.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated expertise in IT strategy, infrastructure management, database administration, and project leadership.

James Truax holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University. James has also obtained additional certifications including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021.
