Gregor Thain

Gregor Thain is an experienced professional with a diverse work history. Gregor is currently serving as the Group Talent and Organisation Effectiveness Director at Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Talent and Learning Strategy Advisor at Royal Mail from November 2021 to March 2022. From 2016 to 2022, Thain served as the Managing Director of Thain Consulting Ltd, where they helped organizations optimize their employee experience and focused on enhancing leadership effectiveness. Gregor also served as the Group Learning Director at BAE Systems from June 2019 to November 2021, where they were responsible for transforming learning within the organization. Thain's expertise in talent and learning extended to their roles as the Director of Talent & Learning at Coca-Cola European Partners from September 2017 to June 2019 and as the Vice President of Global Leadership and Learning at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) from 2011 to 2016. At IHG, they led the global transformation of learning and talent development initiatives. Before that, Thain held various roles at GSK, GlaxoSmithKline, GE Commercial Finance, and Mars, where they gained experience in leadership and talent development, sales, and account management.

Gregor Thain received their education from various institutions throughout their career. In 1990, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Gregor then pursued a DiplEng degree in Industrial Logistics from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in 1994. In 2008, they obtained a Masterpractioner degree in NLP from ITS, and from 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Masters degree in Management, Leadership & Learning from Lancaster University. In 2016, they also received a Bronze Award in Coaching for Performance from Performance Consultants International.
